At one point on Friday Steve said to me, 'I'm so sorry you wasted 18 months on me.' I told him I wasn't sorry, I was grateful for every minute.
It took him 27 years and me 41 years to find a love like ours. Him throwing it away doesn't mean the time was wasted.

I've just been reading through some of your posts and I know how difficult it can be in the situation you were in. Alcoholism and heroin are a hideous combination to try and deal with. One of the two alone is bad, but together is almost impossible.
