So last night I was supposed to be sleeping early cos of my course. But then I got to blogging, and watching Doctor Who, and being all excited and whatever, so in the end I didn't get to bed until about 10.30. Steve had phoned and said he was fine, and him and Ricky were going for a drink. He was planning on staying there for the night, because Ricky's girlfriend was away.

I fell asleep really quickly, but was woken about 11.30 by the phone: Steve again. Ricky's girlfriend had come home and found them out at the pub - and thus not looking after her two children. Cue a huge row, so Steve had left and didn't like to ask to stay. His bag was in Lauren's car, and she was at a rave, so he had no warm clothes. The rave was only nearby, so he'd tried to text and phone her but she hadn't replied.

So then he was really down in the dumps, because these things do really affect his mood - he's so very changeable with circumstances. He was saying he felt like coming 'home', but he didn't have a home, and after reading my letter (in with the card) he wished he'd never left and had stayed to try to put things right with me.

I said I thought we were fine with eachother, and went on to say that he needed to give it a try up there for his own peace of mind in the future, so he'd know that at least he'd tried and wouldn't be wondering 'what if'. By tomorrow things would be much better.

So he phoned me a few more times like that, the last at 1am for about half an hour. I suppose he's testing the water. The water hasn't been revising and isn't too sure of the answers so is skirting around with waffle for now.

This morning he didn't phone or text so I guessed he'd finally got through to Lauren. I texted him at 1pmish asking 'you & bag ok? xx'. He called me back and said yes, it turned out Lauren hadn't gone to the rave at all, she'd been asleep in bed from 7pm!?? What?! Hmmmm. Makes me wonder why she wasn't answering her phone. Could it be that she's getting a notion all's not well on planet New Boyfriend?

So he'd walked down to hers about 4.30am to see if she was home, and of course she was. He'd got a few hours' sleep, and then gone to try to move into the Hotel where he's going to be working. His room wasn't ready, so he'll be moving in later.

Rest of the day has to be friends only though....
