Before I got sidetracked there I came down to write about tonight's phonecall from Steve. He sounded fine again, back to his usual self, and he said it was cause he'd finished work early, and 'Ricky came to pick me up after he'd been to Windermere.' Then they went for a 'smoke.'
He says Ticky gave him the H, but I'm not that stupid - he bought it, and the fact he even mentioned Ricky giving it to him was confirmation of that. He says he's only done it the once, but if that were true how come he was so down this afternoon. I only clicked later, replying to Lucrezia, and I can't believe I didn't click sooner.
I don't know why he does it because it just makes him feel worse in the long run, and he knows that - he was far happier last weekend than when he was doing it. I really can't stand that Ricky - he uses Steve to legitimise him taking it. Steve, of course, won't see that and thinks Ricky's a great bloke. He's not, he's a user in all senses of the word.
I really hope it's a one-off. But then, why should I care?
